Establishing board member for committee to over see art program development for artists
with disabilities for Becoming Independent.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS/DAY OF THE DEAD EVENT
Founding Member of committee for a two day city wide celebration with outreach to schools, universities, businesses, artist and performing arts group.
1999-2009
A ST. GALLERY & STUIDO, OWNER AND CURATOR
Manager and contributing artist of a 5000 sq. ft. art complex including six studios featuring artists working in glass, print making, sculpture, painting and mixed media. Site was also home to the A St. gallery promoting contemporary works primarily by west coast artists. Gallery hosted events by independent filmmakers, modern dance and theater.

CULTURAL ARTS COUNCIL OF SONOMA CO., GUEST CURATOR
SANTA ROSA, CA
First major art show for artists with disabilities at a public gallery. Represented artists from throughout Sonoma County.
Involved participation of five mental health agencies in creating show.
- Coordinated call to artist. Organized juried show and successful sale of artist' work. Co-designed and produced invitation to the public. Organized two public gallery receptions for 600, including coordinating venue, catering, and promotion.

FIRST NIGHT—SANTA ROSA
NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION
SANTA ROSA, CA
Program of performing and visual arts, local to Sonoma County, located in downtown Santa Rosa on New Year's Eve. Over 300 volunteers, 200 performances for 20-30,000 community visitors.
STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBER
Attended meeting with heads of all contributing Board members. Participated in overall design of event. Worked with Santa Rosa City officials to coordinate event details.
ARTIST SELECTIONS COMMITTEE MEMBER
Reviewed applications of visual and performing artists. Participated in organization of Selection Committee. Participated in selection of final entries. Negotiated fees for artists.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Educated and encouraged hard to reach groups to participate in the community event.
PROGRAM DEVELOPER
Participated in coordinating the event's schedule and venues. Scheduled artists' performances.
ARTIST OUTREACH
1995. Worked with four disabled artist from Becoming Independent to create large puppets for the First Night parade. Provided studio space. Facilitated artists' applications for grant money. Mentored artists.

- 1995. Presented speech at First Night International Conference, Monterey California. Focus was on how to include artist with disabilities in First Night Program.

1982-1986
CROSS CULTURAL TEXTILE PROJECT
INTERCULTURAL ACTION CENTER (IAC) DIRECTOR
SANTA ROSA, CA
- Program created three quilts with Amish & Hmong reverse applique patterns by 23 textile artists. Raised $10,000 revenue for IAC English as a Second Language program. Program helped integrate Hmong immigrants into local community through their art, promoted their textile arts, and gave them employment.
- Designed and coordinated the project. Raised seed money. Acted as liaison between Hmong and Sonoma County textile artists. Designed two of the quilts, and hired American quilt designer for third quilt. Participated in production of quilts. Organized sales of textile art, and raffle tickets at public events.
- Coordinated display of Hmong textile art at Sonoma State University. Keynote speaker at SSU topic of Hmong Culture. Textiles and resettlement in Sonoma County.
